Teache your parrot to talk

Finally it is here ,teach your parrot to talk.First of all you need to know that teaching a big african grey how to talk is easy but if you have a little parrot it would be really difficult. So make sure your parrot likes you and is tame. Then make sure you are alone in the training room and there is no noise for example tv.Now repeat the word you will understand if he is paying attention. If he is not try another day. After a few sessions he should get the word. That worked for me hope I helped.

A little tip

I thought it would be nice posting a tip which helped me a lot in taming my parrot and made him trust me even more. What is it?It is scratching his head.Animals love being scratched and so do parrots. My parrot loved me even more after I scratched him for the first time. But how to do it if he won't let you?Every time my parrot sees me coming he does our whistle. Our whistle is a melody which only I do to him.So when i do him our whistle he comes next to my face.I insert my finger in and I try to scratch him.At first he may bite but after a while he will let you scratch him.

Come again soon because there is another tip comnig.

The clicker

So your parrot is eating from your hand ?What's next? The Clicker. The clicker is a small objects that makes a sound when you click it.You can buy it from everywhere but even if you can't find it you can just make a sound with your mouth. For clicker training you will need a parrot(of caurse) the clicker and a stick(a chopstick would be just fine).
Fisrt Step:From now on you will click before you give your parrot a treat(that will make him understand that the click means food)
Second Step:When he is familiar with the click insert the stick in the cage through the bars and get it near your parrot. He should bite it out of curiosity, when he does click and give him a treat(that will make him understand that whenever he bites the stick he will get a treat)
Third Step:When he follows the stick everywhere to get a treat, open the cage door and point out of the cage,he will come out of the cage.Get him on top of the cage.
Final Step:Time for the step up.When he is on top of the cage place your finger in front of him.Point with the stick from the other side so that he needs to get on your finger to bite it.He should step up after a while. When he does so say "step up".With a little practice he will be steping up on command.

Tip :Make sure you have a lot of time when you get him out of cage.

Handfeed your parrot

The next step in taming your parrot is handfeeding him.Find which treat he likes the best(tip:try using millet parrots are crazy about millet). Then offer him the treat through the cage bars. Some parrots erspond faster than others but never give up he will get the treat for sure after a while. When he is comfortable eating from your hand through cage bars open the door and offer him the treat, again dont give up he may start flying around his cage he may just ignore it just kee you hand in there for 5 minutes every time and after a while he will get the treat for sure.So thats all,if you have any questions let me know by commenting.

P.S.:I made a facebook page like and promote if you like my blog ,you will make a man happy!(http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tame-your-parrot/294886823870594)

Getting your parrot to know you

When you first buy your parrot he will be afraid of you.Don't worry because I found a trick to make him understand you are not a threat.Get a chair and place it near his cage. When he seems he has no problem with you being there move the chair a little closer.Remember don't make fast moves that will scare him. After a while it should be okay with him to be near his cage.

Tip:When you approach his cage always tell his name with soft friendly voice.
